Rogers became a major country and pop crossover performer. Between 1977 and 1987 he achieved twenty number-one country hits. His career honours included three Grammy Awards and induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
Kenny died on 20 March 2020, aged 81. His recordings and warm storytelling voice remain a much-loved part of country music history.
