Frank Sinatra
From intimate ballads to swinging big-band favourites, Frank Sinatra brought unmistakable style and storytelling to popular music. Known as “Ol’ Blue Eyes” and “The Chairman of the Board”, his warm voice, precise phrasing and ability to make a lyric feel personal helped define an era.
Born Francis Albert Sinatra on 12 December 1915 in Hoboken, New Jersey, he rose to prominence singing with the Harry James and Tommy Dorsey orchestras before building a remarkable solo career. Recordings such as My Way, Fly Me to the Moon, Strangers in the Night and I've Got You Under My Skin became enduring favourites, while albums including In the Wee Small Hours showcased his gift for capturing love, longing and reflection.
His talents reached beyond the recording studio. Sinatra won an Academy Award for his supporting performance in From Here to Eternity and became closely associated with the Rat Pack and the glamour of Las Vegas entertainment. He died on 14 May 1998, aged 82, leaving a musical legacy that continues to connect generations.
This collection celebrates the voice, the songs and the memories, with pieces for fans who treasure Sinatra’s place in music history.
