Quinceañera

A quinceañera celebrates a girl’s fifteenth birthday and is a meaningful coming-of-age milestone in many Latin American communities. Particularly associated with Mexico and celebrated across parts of Central and South America, the Caribbean and communities worldwide, including the UK, it brings together family, heritage and wishes for the young person’s future. Traditions vary between countries and families.

When it happens: throughout the year, on or around the fifteenth birthday. There is no fixed annual festival date.

Celebrations may include a religious service, a special dress, music, dancing and a gathering with relatives and friends. Some families include a ceremonial waltz, a court of attendants or symbolic gifts, while others choose a smaller or more contemporary celebration. Not every quinceañera includes religious observance.

Coming soon: thoughtful gifts, keepsakes and decorative pieces to celebrate a special fifteenth birthday, treasured memories and exciting new beginnings.
